YOKE Supports South Africa with LEEASA Membership and CPD Provision

YOKE Empowers Professional Growth in South Africa
As a LEEASA member, YOKE is a renowned supplier of high-quality rigging hardware, including Grade 80 and Grade 100 lifting chain fittings, swivel hoist hooks, shackles, angular contact swivels, wire rope clips, and lifting points. LEEASA was established by like-minded organisations and individuals from the provider, manufacturer, maintenance, inspection, examination, and training sectors of the lifting industry.
Central to LEEASA’s mission is CPD. The association awards credits to individual members registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). Participation in LEEASA-validated training and seminars earns recognition, positioning YOKE not just as a member but as a trusted partner supporting professional growth, compliance, and safety.

Driving Lifting Standards in South Africa
Importantly, LEEASA membership alone does not automatically confer the status of a validated CPD service provider. Companies must complete a formal verification process under the ECSA CPD framework to be recognised as CPD providers capable of issuing ECSA-recognised CPD credits. CPD activities recognised by LEEASA count toward statutory CPD requirements for maintaining professional registration, with participants entitled to one CPD point for every eight hours of training.
LEEASA membership complements, but is separate from, YOKE’s membership with the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA), the leading global trade association for the lifting industry. Hong added: “LEEA focuses on international lifting standards, guidance, and training frameworks, while LEEASA aligns closely with South African legislation, ECSA requirements, and local CPD structures. Together, they offer global consistency and local relevance, sharing a common goal of safety, competence, and professionalism.”
